Trust & privacy

Trust Starts Here. Clarity Comes First.

Understand what your family can see, what Chedoo processes, and where to ask for more detail.

Sharing

Choose the information visible to other household members.

Access

Use household roles and time-limited guest links intentionally.

Protection

Understand encrypted credentials and server-side processing.

01

Three different boundaries

Calendar sharing controls determine the family view. Account permissions govern who can make changes. Encryption protects specific stored credentials. These are separate safeguards, not interchangeable promises.

  • Work events appear as busy blocks in the shared view.
  • Private calendars are excluded from other members’ shared views.
  • Guest links provide limited, read-only household access.
02

Family planning without location tracking

Chedoo does not track family members. Device position, movement history, private travel starting addresses and personal commute estimates are not shared with your household. Optional location is used only when you choose it. Shared statuses are set by each person; shared event venues are places you deliberately add to the calendar.

03

Your choices stay accessible

Review each calendar’s sharing preset, remove a calendar connection, manage your household invitations and revoke guest links. Temporary guest links expire; anyone with a valid link can use its permitted view.

04

Ask for evidence, not badges

Chedoo does not publish a SOC 2 audit report here. This site does not claim an independently verified certification. Contact the team for current hosting, backup, retention and operational information before making a decision that depends on it.

How protection works

Understand the Boundaries

Sharing controls, account permissions and credential protection serve different purposes.

01

Calendar credentials

Supported calendar tokens and app passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before application storage. The server uses those credentials to perform authorized synchronization. Your Chedoo sign-in password is hashed with bcrypt.

02

The limits matter too

Chedoo uses a server-managed encryption key. It is not a zero-knowledge or end-to-end encrypted service, and not every event or household field is encrypted by the application. Work-event redaction controls what is returned to family members.

03

Practical steps for your household

Use a unique sign-in password and your provider’s account protections. Review calendar permissions periodically. Revoke a connection or guest link when it is no longer needed.

  • Never send a password, calendar token or recovery link to support.
  • Check the sharing preview for every connected account.
  • Ask for current infrastructure and backup details if you need them.

Your information

A Clear Route for Data Questions

Start with account controls, or contact the team when you need more detail.

01

Start with your account controls

You can update your profile and delete your account in account settings. Disconnect a calendar if your goal is to stop future synchronization rather than remove your entire Chedoo account.

02

For access, correction or export questions

Contact support from the email associated with your account and describe the request. Avoid sending passwords, provider credentials or other household members’ private event details. Identity verification may be needed before account information can be discussed.

03

Retention and assurance

Account deletion follows the service’s data relationships. Ask support for current details about backups and billing-record retention. No SOC 2 audit report is published on this site. Contact the team for current assurance information.
