Family coordination

A Busy Week. Clear Handoffs.

Knowing about an event is different from knowing who is taking responsibility for it.

An ordinary Thursday

Pickup, with a Clear Yes.

A shared event tells you what’s happening. An accepted handoff tells you who is taking care of it.

01

Make the responsibility visible

Add pickup, attendance or backup responsibilities to a family commitment. Choose an adult and wait for their response. A proposed assignment is not a confirmed handoff.

  • An accepted handoff identifies the responsible adult.
  • A decline reopens the responsibility.
  • The history shows changes and responses.
02

Review the gaps together

The weekly family review highlights uncovered responsibilities and changed plans. If a calendar is stale or private, treat availability as uncertain rather than assuming that an adult is free.

03

When plans change

A relevant change to a native commitment reopens affected handoffs for confirmation. Review the event and agree on a new arrangement. Dismissing an alert does not transfer responsibility or make a conflict disappear.

A little help getting started

From a Sentence to a Plan

Use a scheduling draft as a starting point, then review the details and agree on the responsibility.

01

Give the draft a good starting point

Include a date, start time, duration and event name. “Piano on 8 October at 16:00 for an hour” is less ambiguous than “piano next week.”

  • Include a timezone when planning across countries.
  • Leave confidential work information out of your request.
  • Check recurrence and the intended calendar carefully.
02

Review is part of the workflow

AI output is a proposal. Check the title, date, duration, location and repetition before saving. Edit or discard a draft if anything is wrong. Saving a draft does not mean an external calendar has finished syncing.

03

Always a straightforward alternative

You can add a commitment directly to the Family calendar without AI or a connected provider. Use that route when the request is simple, the AI service is unavailable, or you prefer to enter the details yourself.

04

Keep people in the loop

An event draft does not confirm that someone will attend or do pickup. Add the relevant responsibility and wait for the adult’s acceptance.

Make it a habit

A Small Weekly Reset

A few minutes together can surface the questions before the week gets busy.

01

The five-minute Sunday review

Look at the next seven days together. Start with commitments that need an adult: pickup, an appointment or an activity. Name the person responsible, check that they agree, and leave uncertain arrangements visible. A short review is more useful than a perfect calendar nobody opens.

  • Ask: which handoff still needs a yes?
  • Check: has a connected calendar stopped updating?
  • Leave room: the plan should tolerate a late meeting.
